Maserati Kubang Sport Luxury SUV Concept

We first saw Maserati's upcoming entry in the luxury SUV segment at the Frankfurt Motor Show last September and now the Kubang is making its North American debut in Detroit, the city in which it will be built. The shorty story on the Kubang is that it shares a platform with the latest Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango, but features a unique body designed at the Maserati Style Center headed by Lorenzo Ramaciotti.
It will also get its own hardware including a new, but as of yet, unspecified engine built by Ferrari along with bespoke suspension, brake, steering and electronic systems developed by Maserati engineers in Italy.
The production version, which may or may not use the Kubang nameplate, will be built at the Chrysler Group's Jefferson North Assembly plant in Detroit from where it will be exported all over the world.
Maserati is still keeping us in the dark on the production and launch dates of its Porsche Cayenne rival.
