Cadillac Says 'Front to Back' CTS Ad is Real

In late December of 2011, Cadillac published a thirty-second clip on the CTS sedan named "Front to Back" showing two cars riding alongside each other, with one driving forward and the other in reverse. Apparently, some viewers weren't sure if said scene on the commercial was real or not so Cadillac came out with some additional footage from different angles.
"Many of you were surprised to learn that our CTS ad with the two vehicles driving side-by-side was 100% authentic," a Cadillac spokesperson wrote on the brand's Facebook page. "Now, as promised, we're giving you all the extended footage of our amazing drivers in action."
You can peep the videos after the break.

The New 2013 Cadillac XTS Sedan can Fit Four Adults and Four Golf Bags

We just wanted to show you a few new pictures and a video of the brand-new 2013 Cadillac XTS but since General Motors went to all that trouble to convince us that its full-size sedan is compatible with the life-style of golfers, we opted to share the company’s thoughts. Mind you, young and enthusiastic gearheads aspiring to be designers or engineers may want to skip this post altogether.
Cadillac tells us that during the development phase of the XTS, its designers and engineers "spent time in homes making observations and taking notes" and that a recurring theme was "the desire for more space to accommodate active lifestyle gear, like golf bags."
"We used computer simulations to model golf bags, as well as other common types of goods our customers are likely to transport,” said XTS chief engineer Sheri Hickok. "That also includes cases of bottled water, luggage, groceries and more. Just as we did with the rest of the XTS, we spent a lot of time maximizing every inch of storage space."
The wreath and crest brand proudly notes that as a result, the new XTS offers almost 40 inches (about 1 meter) of rear legroom and 18 cubic feet (509 liters) of trunk space, more than the Audi A8L, BMW 7-series, and Mercedes-Benz S-class.
"Our owners want to comfortably take four adults out for a round of golf and dinner afterwards," explained Hickok. "The challenge was to give customers what they expect in terms of interior spaciousness, comfort and luxury, but to do so without compromising exterior looks and handling dynamics."
Pictures follow below.

The Most Viewed Commercial during Super Bowl XLVI

To the dismay of Patriot fans, the New York Giants won the Super Bowl XLVI. But aside from the real game on the field, there was also another game taking place on television sets. We're talking of course about the advertising war. According to Kantar Media Audiences’ commercial ratings analysis, Cadillac scored the highest audience, averaging a 43.5 average household rating with its “Green Hell” ad on the new ATS that aired at 9:37 EST.
The study also found that the ATS commercial was the most-viewed single advertising spot in U.S. television history surpassing the previous record holder, which was “Miss Evelyn,” a spot for the Chevrolet Camaro in Super Bowl XLV last year.
“When it comes to Super Bowl ads, everyone has opinions on their favorites. But it’s a fact that this Cadillac spot had the biggest audience during the game," commented General Motors Global Chief Marketing Officer Joel Ewanick.
Kantar said that Super Bowl XVLI reached a record U.S. television audience of 111.3 million viewers.
The auto industry accounted for six of the top rated 25 ads with Cadillac, Kia, Hyundai, Honda, Fiat and Toyota all scoring over a 41 rating.

2013 Cadillac ATS gets New 2.0-liter Turbo with 270HP, Plus 2.5L and 3.6L V6 engines [Video]

Cadillac is not…horsing around with its soon-to-be revealed 2013 ATS as the Detroit automaker will offer the compact sports saloon with a newly developed 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four producing an estimated 270-horsepower and 260 lb-ft. of torque (353 Nm) straight from launch. The 2.0T is a different engine than the one used on the current Buick Regal GS, with the ATS being the first GM model to receive the force-fed powerplant.
“This engine is the perfect match for the new ATS, which will be a refined performance luxury sedan,” said Don Butler, Cadillac vice president of Global Marketing. “The 2.0T has an exceptionally smooth and responsive power curve that will make the ATS nimble, quick and fun to drive.”
The Cadillac-tuned four-cylinder unit employs several technologies including a twin-scroll turbocharger with air-to-air intercooler, direct injection, continuously variable valve timing and a two-stage variable-displacement oil pump with jet-spray piston cooling.
Cadillac says that overall engine friction is reduced by up to 16 percent, which results into significant gains in fuel economy.
“The 2.0T is one of the most advanced and efficient engines of its kind, and contributes to the ATS’s exceptional balance of performance and great fuel efficiency,” said Mike Anderson, chief engineer for the 2.0T engine. “It has the exhilarating, responsive power available when you want it, yet can provide the fuel efficiency that will make the ATS a fully competitive vehicle in global markets,” he added.
Cadillac noted that at 135HP per liter, the 2.0T engine "has the highest power density among key competitors" providing a somewhat befuddling list that includes the M3's naturally aspirated V8 but not the new 328i's 240HP 2.0-liter unit:
  • Audi A4’s 2.0L turbo (105.5 hp/L)
  • BMW M3’s V-8 (103.5 hp/L)
  • Lexus IS F’s V-8 (83.2 hp/L)
  • Mercedes-Benz C250’s 1.8L turbo (111.6 hp/L)
Along with the 2.0T, Cadillac will also offer a normally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a 3.6-liter V-6 engine in the ATS, which will make its world premiere the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January.

Gisele Spends Some Time in a Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

The first thing most of our readers [sic…] may notice about this video is that the featured Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is equipped with an automatic transmission. Do we really need to tell you what else your eyes will rest upon after that?

And oh, it's probably a good idea to tell you that both videos are somewhat NSFW (probable less about Work, more about Wife). If staged clips about girls taking a ride in a fast car is your kind of thing, all you have to do is follow the jump to watch Gisele and her ride in the automatic Caddy.
